Failing is a painful emotion that all of us go through at several stages of life. The task is to cope with it and continue to work hard for the desired goal.
At such times, coaching allows the individual or organization to believe in themselves, continue working hard, provide motivation, and draw attention to new strategies. They work towards uplifting the individual or the organization from failure and leading them towards the journey of success.
Some of the ways to cope are:
– Recognize your emotions: failure is accompanied by a lot of emotions that can be positive, negative, or neutral. Acknowledge them, accept them and avoid escaping from them. If they are positive, like being grateful for learning a lesson, it is an advantage. But if they are negative which is generally the case, then it is okay to feel them and have them.
– Accept responsibility: neither too much self-blame nor complete not accepting the responsibility both are inappropriate. There needs to be a balance and reasonable acceptability of responsibility.
– Advantageous practices: go for a walk, play with your pet, or listen to your favorite music. All such activities help to restore a positive approach towards the goal.
Focus on learnings: modify the thinking process and concentrate on what learnings you had from that experience.
Failure is not a new concept in this world. But how one faces it inspires other people.
Consult a coach and convert failure to success.
